BILD Acquires Full Ownership Stake in Toronto Home Shows

Attention BILD members:

As the leaders of BILD, we are pleased to announce some exciting news for our Association.

After months of negotiations, we have successfully reached an agreement to purchase 100 per cent ownership of the National Home Show, the Toronto Fall Home Show and the GTA Home Show.

Since 2008, BILD and Marketplace Events (MPE) have successfully co-owned both the Toronto Fall Home Show and the National Home Show, which is Canada's largest and longest-running consumer show.

Both BILD and MPE anticipated the day would arrive when a single ownership structure would be in the best interest of the home shows, and that time has come.

As of May 30, BILD will be the sole owner/operator of all three home shows. MPE will help with the transition process until the end of the year.

This is a strategic acquisition for BILD and a bold step for the future vitality of our Association.

This decision is a testament to the strength of our Association and the key role we believe the home shows represent as a bridge between our industry and the public.

The acquisition process has clearly proven that BILD has the leadership, passion and commitment to take on the added responsibility and continue the tradition of producing some of the world's best home shows.

We now have the great privilege to expand BILD's operations and build on our 93-year legacy.

With your full support, we welcome the opportunities that lie ahead as we continue to ensure the National Home Show, the Toronto Fall Home Show and  the GTA Home Show are celebrated events on the GTA calendar.

We look forward to welcoming into the BILD family, the addition of 12 knowledgeable show professionals who work tirelessly to bring an exceptional show experience to all.

Our partnership has yielded incredible growth and now we will be in a position to continue to thrive and attract the hundreds of thousands of showgoers who come to the annual shows seeking new trends and home remodelling ideas from the GTA's best experts.

Given our long-standing partnership with MPE and its employees, we are certain that our transition plan will unfold as expected.

While today's announcement is exciting news, it is also a part of a long-term strategy to better position BILD in the marketplace and to continue finding creative ways to engage the public.

Moving forward, we will continue to make decisions that strengthen the position of our Association and its members. We welcome your support and look forward to making sure that you, our members, play a key role in strengthening and broadening the long-term vision of our Association.
